The award ceremony for the Norwich Beer Festival was held at the Kings Head Pub in Magdalen Street in Norwich.
It was great to be there amongst many esteemed brewers and CAMRA folk, and collecting our prize for Pi was a real
honour.
N²B would like to thank everyone who voted for Pi.

We have completed our first brew. We have been brewing for quite a while both at home and in other breweries, but it was
still a daunting experience to do a first brew on a new plant. Fortunately we had Brendon over giving us a hand and ensuring
all worked to plan.
The recipe is a 3.8% ABV bitter, slightly hoppy and amber in colour. We are currently running a competition to name the
beer, so look our in the new NIPS, Great Yarmouth beer festival guide and in the Great Yarmouth Mercury.
Below are some pictures of the brew taking place.
We start with cleaning
and more cleaning
Mashing the malt
There is a lot of sweeping involved
Next step the sparging of the grain
The sparge arm at work
Our makeshift chimney
There was a lot of steam
In goes the yeast, we are making beer...

The day finally arrived. Our brewing plant arrives to much excitement. It did take a lot of lifting to get into place
and at one point we had to summon assistance to put a fermenter in place.
We start unloading the truck
Getting the copper in place
and it weighed a ton

Placing a fermenter
Our neighbours arrive to help with the second fermenter
